A couple of days ago certain events led me to a statement of how
"Its sad how friends can be replaceable"....
As a result of the ridiculous amount of free time I had, I started thinking about this as a problem of its own. And I came to the conclusion that this is all due to the mathematical equations we implement into our lives.
Regardless of how ONE can be good or bad in Mathematics back in school, we constantly do calculations over simple mundane things we face on a day to day basis. For example, considering the making of a friend. Something like this, we would consider a simple and easy task. It doesn't need to be overlooked. However, with the ever changing society, the "REAL WORLD" teaches us that even the friends we make has a equal and opposite reaction on to us.
So suddenly, making of a new friend CAN indeed become an equation.
How can this friendship benefit me?
What skills does he have?
Does he have any personal commitment issues?
Will this friendship affect me for the better or the worst?
Its easy for us to deny that we do such a thing, yet its also so hard to deny that such does not exist. We start applying this equation to people and their abilities.
Smart +1
Good at Drawing +1
Comforting +1
Body Odor -2
Total = 1
So when someone with all the above + points without the - points appears. The other friend becomes "obsolete" and expandable. They become "in case of emergency break glass" kind of friends.
Then again, while you are calculating the equations of others, someone else is calculating yours.
This calculating cycle will never end.
The question is, do you really want to put that much mathematics into your life. Yes sure, math does simplify complex numbers. It help add up situation and minus some problems. Without it, life can be complicated. With a long string of binomials waiting for us to break down. But, its that unexpectedness that makes life what it is....Others can choose to calculate life. To equate friendship with a number. But that just makes life so less pointless/decimaless...
What do you see of your equation?
Are you gonna just attach numbers to people?
Or...you can attach yourself and know them as a person...
